Discuss your thoughts on taking Test #3. Were you prepared for it? If so, what strategies did you use as part of your preparation? If you were not prepared for it, what will you do next time to ensure that you do well on the test?
I did a little research when I did the test number three and I was able to find good sources about the topic that I chose to write about. My only problem was, I waited until the last minute to do the test so I didn't think I did well on it. I'll make sure I'll do better next time.
I researched last minute and I regret it, because I did it in class and I could not remember the sources when it came to the citations. Last minute habits have to change.
My test three topic was "The stressors of an average teenager." I feel like I was more prepared for this essay since I knew more about it. I did very little research to see if my opinion was similar to other teens around the world. As I did some research, I found some reasons for teen stress, I found very odd. It was very interesting to find out what stresses teens around the world. While doing this essay, I learned more about citing sources and more about teenage stress.
So true! My son tells me he is stresed out and my first impression is "Whatever!" Then i realize that he is trying communicate with me and probably ask for help.
Typing my expository essay was quite easy for me because my topic was a very interesting one. Teen suicide has caused a major death tole in the past and till this day. Researching was not hard at all since teen suicide is a trending topic. I think if i were to have picked a different topic it would be a little more challenging if it dealt with more on facts instead of opinion. I was prepared to type and discuss my expository essay.
Teen suicide is indeed a great topic to research on reliable information. I am enlightened by Abigail's and your essay. It's interesting that these common issues are often ignored until it happens to someone's family and or friends.
My topic for test three was " Why Teens Commit Suicide." I feel like i was prepared for my test three. I knew exactly what i was going to write about which made it easier for me to write. I learned a lot of things about suicide when i was researching information about my topic. It was interesting to read. Many teens commit suicide today and it is pretty sad to hear. Next time, i will try to not procrastinate like i aways do.
Suicide is a tragic situation. People do not pay attention to these kids that are desperately in the need of help. These teens also do not have the courage to seek help. They feel absolutely helpless. Suicide prevention groups need to reach out and help teens that do not step into their offices.
Thankfully, most nonprofit organizations are participating in suicide prevention workshops. Many agencies are working together to address the issues and educate individuals through couseling and so forth.
Doing an expository essay is more challenging than the previous ones we did. It is more on facts rather than opinions. Although it was very interesting to know more about my topic, "Non-material things that make people happy." On the next essay I will prepare even sooner because I expect it to be more difficult than this one.
The essays are only going to get more challenging in the future. Indeed, we shall prepare on what topic we and research deeply on our topic. It will give us the opportunity to follow the principles of recursive and editing as much as possible.
Test # 3 was a great experience. Learning how to write an expository essay is a good technique for wanting to state your point strongly in your essay. It deals with facts rather than opinions. It requires you do some research and get examples of true statements. Thus, it makes you learn how to cite your work.
I was prepared for it. I read about what an expository essay requires and did some research. After that, I went ahead and started freewriting about what I know.
It was a great experience. I never have referenced anyone in any of my previously written essays. Hopefully, we will all cite and reference others with ease.
I made time to prepare for my Informative Essay. I am glad that Dr. Rivera reminds us about our upcoming tests. I researched on how to write an informative essay. I read more than a couple of other students' papers. I learned how to reference and cite properly. Test #3 was a challenge but I overcame the challenge by going to the Writing Gym. Francine was very friendly and helpful. She guided me on how to stray away from going off topic (old habits). Moreover, as Franklin peer reviewed my essay, I learned more from my common mistakes like sentence fragments. Thank you Franklin, you are the best!

All the research doing for this essay made me realized how much teens and young adults commit suicide because of multiple reasons. this essay I prepared more and had a lot more time to write this. My Topic was Why Teens Commit Suicide.
Proof reading your work was absolutely touching. You were on point when you explained the reasons why teens commit suicide. Just to lift up one person who is in that dark side would be amazing because not only did you shine some light on someone but can encourage others to do the same.
My most difficult encounter with test 3 was chosing a topic. I prefer to chose topics most relevant to me or my experiences. I am satisfied with my topic and it really meant a lot to me. I was prepared and feel confident in my gradual improvements.
I agree with you when picking topics. Writing essays that you can reflect on or had an experience makes it easy to write. You are writing about a true experience and I believe that most readers prefer to read stories that are based in real life situations.

My topic was why do teens smoke and it is a well known topic in the world. Researching and writing the expository essay has taught me about why teens smoke.
Test#3 was difficult for me, because I was unprepared. I didn't research much about my topic which made the test harder. I could have stated my own opinions about my topic, but this essay requires facts from scholarly sources. To prepare myself next time for essays like this, I am going to research early and not procrastinate. Doing things last minute is a habit and I have to stop that.
Test three brought back memories of high school because of the topic I choose; which was, Why teen girls wear make up. I wish i would have done more to my paper but I am happy with what I turned in. I liked every ones topics and thesis.
I like your essay topic. It reminded me of my junior high when I first tried make up. I always wanted to look like the others and never thought of the side effects of glamour.
I enjoyed working on my expository essay. Keeping up with the latest trends and technology cannot suffice someone's happiness. On the other hand the non-materialistic things in life make me happy. Not just me but anyone can experience that feeling. Like how I used nature as an example, it surrounds us and it can easily take your breath away. A beautiful sunset can simply ease someone's stressful day and the best part about it is that it can't be bought and its there for everyone.
For test number 3, I wrote about how you can prepare for a soccer game. This topic was a bit easy for me because I've been playing soccer all my life and I've gotten different knowledge from different coaches about how to prepare. In addition, I also looked online for a more specific way of how to prepare for a soccer match.
I did not think that preparing for a soccer game would be essential to write about. I am proven wrong. That would be an interesting thing to write about with the knowledge you gained throughout your experiences. Congratulations on the game Dylan!
