  1. Today's work was a great experience for me because I learned the steps on how to change the oil on a car even if I really don't have any knowledge about cars. Also, the link above was a good exercise to me because it reminds me of how someone would want to look. Like what was mentioned looks do count.

    1. Yes, presentation counts: context, content, and complexion, I would say.
Yes, "how someone would want to look" is why we do the peer review: we can adjust our essay to what the general audience considers best. That is why I try to get constructive criticism when I hand my essay for peer review.

  3. The importance of revising and editing is to help you go over your paper and make sure that its correct. And to help you make changes in what you think is not necessary or weak in your writing. It gives you a chance to add or delete and strengthen your essay. Today's activity was very refreshing and helpful. I learned more about organizing the sequence or steps of directions. And how its very important to write in order because then the person reading your directions would get confused or it will not turn out the way its suppose to.

    1. I did not pay much attention before to the fact how organized the information is in many writings. I am not talking about coherence and logical sequence of events, but how singular steps instruct us. It was nice to practice something different. I guess now I will be able to post an original recipe online! Very practical use.

    1. I agree with you, since we were both working together on this task. It is very important to have the right reference. I will keep this in mind for my expository essay.

  6. The importance of revising and editing is for perfecting your paper. The in class activity today was very informative. Working with stages, basic forms, combined forms, and career related writing process analysis. They were all clear and very understandable. The activity that we did in class today was fun at the same time. I really enjoyed it.

  9. The importance in revising and editing makes your essay a solid and organize one. You have to make sure you fix any mistakes in your sentences. In todays events we got to understand two types of process analysis( directive and Informative). I liked todays discussion and I am going to try to understand and review it more.

    1. I liked it too. It is a different form of writing; process analysis does not require much personal input, but when it happens, it is called Combination Process Analysis. I see this type of writing online, for recipes: people list the preparation requirements, and steps to follow but they add comments like "I put less jalapenos when children are going to eat it" or suggestions like " I cook for 6 people but freeze half of it, since it keeps well in the freezer".

  10. I asked today in class, how far can we take stage 3, revising/editing? It turns out, as far as needed to make the essay sound, and look nice. I was afraid that if stage 3 was extremely different from stage 1 , that stage 1 would not count as "stage 1" for the stage 3. Also, I understand that even stage 2 can be different from stage 3. Those are just basic structures (stage 1 and 2) to build on, the best way possible (by revising and editing).

  11. Revising and Editing is an important part in writing an essay. When revising and editing one must make sure that you have fulfilled the intention of the assignment. One must also organize your essay using good transitions and making sure that the topic isn't getting sidetracked. And lastly, polish and edit the essay checking grammar and spelling. Stage three of the writing process is a essential part in writing an essay because it cleans up the essay.
