  1. I really recommend this source to writers, especially fellow English majors. These are basic and common mistakes. I would like to point out though, referring back to speaking, that when reading, keep in mind that you are not "speaking" to the reader. I love how it pointed out the common mistakes with the apostrophe because I often do see those mistakes within readings.

Overall in today's class, the discussion, once again, did not fail to be entertaining and informative. As i stated in my essay, the repetitiveness of what we learn only locks it in our minds and makes it easier to apply when needed. I think that this class molds together great because of all the outgoing personalities. I just love how no one is shy.

  3. I found the source very useful because I also make the same mistakes over and over. A single punctuation or the correct order of some words can change the meaning of the sentence or it put more emphasis on the topic being discussed. Simple common mistakes can be avoided. We just need to keep writing the right way.

Today we analyzed different types of essays. We also shared about our comfort foods and comfort activities. This was very fun because we get to learn a little something about every one.

English is a vast variety of fundamentals you have to learn in order to understand it and sometimes we forget the simplest things like comparing "there" from "their." This was like a refresher's course in learning the basic yet very important components in English.

  7. Making mistakes is actually common when you're writing an essay. I'm a person that uses contractions on a daily basis. It was helpful for me to understand why the usage of contractions was not needed as much in an essay. It is not in a professional manner to use contractions. Although that I'm use to it, I learn from it. Fixing those common mistakes improve your writing skills.

I am not so used to citing and reading essays that were cited was very helpful.
