In my opinion, this poem tells me to live life to your fullest. Don't do things that are bad, in a sense that its not worth anyone's time. I really liked reading this poem. Today we had no class, so I was able to work on my final essays for the last day of class. This time was well spent on my work and focusing on what needed to be focused on.
ReplyDeleteI like your interpretation of the poem and this time off from class really does help.
DeleteI agree it does seem to say to live our lives to the fullest and have no regret about what we do.
DeleteI liked the poem too. It is a good reminder of "choosing your battles";the day has limited hours and at the end of it, you better feel it was worth! It also implies not to waste the time.
DeleteTo me, this poem is simply stating that you should spend your time wisely on the things and people you feel are important because time is of the essence. In addition, I feel that it goes hand in hand with our last essays because you should spend all the time you have to perfect them and focus on summer when it is here, but for now spend all your time on school. Today will give me the ample time I need to catch up on My Reading Labs and start on the last 2 essays of the semester.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with you, the poem refers to so many things in life and also it can refer to us taking the final exams.
DeleteThis is the beauty of the poems: everyone can project on it themselves. I like your view of it : focus on task at hand.
DeleteI am glad you are catching up on your extended class activities today. Very good use of time.
Nicely put, how we have to focus on our final stretch of classes.
DeleteYou have good points on what the poem is about and it is good that you try to put school first before the you think of summer.
DeleteIn my point of view it means to do the things that has more meaning to you. Also, to make good and long lasting happy memories that you would not regret a day in your life. I also believe that it is referring to the things in our life that we think is more important to do such as our classes and final exams that must be submitted on the exact day. Although, writing these essays make me nervous on the day of presentation. Hopefully, I get a good grade on this.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Basleen. It is about what you choose to be "worth".
DeleteI hope you do well on the final exam.
I think you have the right definition on what this poem is about.Think positive and you will get a good grade.
Delete"Live a meaningful life" is what I think the poem conveys. It also lists the things that are considered "worth" and moments that life is made of.
ReplyDeleteI decided to do one more exercise on the My Reading Lab and of course, got points off for advancing :-) I inserted a smile because at this point, I think it is funny! I did a psychology exercise on "Flow Theory": it states that many people find their work not rewarding nor satisfying, but some do find happiness in it. It is the state of mind of being focused, absorbed with the activity, fully engaged, and experiencing satisfaction with something that others would maybe see as a "task". This theory is very important because it implies that there are ways to accomplish this through changes in the person, and the environment. These can lead to a more productive and happy life. I wish this theory was part of elementary education!
I too agree with you it does refer a lot about life. However, that is really crazy for getting points deducted just for advancing to a new level. I think they should not deduct any points because it is a way for us to learn more and understand.
DeleteYour post is very thought out and its true that doing something shouldn't be just a task.
DeleteI agree that you a have to stay focus and make your life a happy one. Stay focus and I am sorry you got points taken off.
DeleteTo me what this poem is saying is that, we has people need to be outgoing and need to strive to be successful in our lives. We need to stay positive and motivated as we continue our lives has better people. Always give a hand when its needed. Cherish every moment of life with your family and friends and having a healthy relationship with your spouse. Never think that you are alone because there are people like family and friends to pick you up when you are down. I try to do your best on any given task that comes towards you. ALWAYS BE HONEST..
ReplyDeleteThis poem is inspiring us to be the best that we can be and do everything to the fullest. We should want to live our lives with meaning and strive to affect others in a positive way. By doing this we can know that we live not only for ourselves but for others.
ReplyDeleteI agree on your reflection and make sure you a have a impact your life and everyone around you.
DeleteIn my opinion this poem means "YOLO" because you only live once. Live life to the fullest without regret. Do something that can make your life meaningful. It is a great poem, and it should be used as a goal for everyone
ReplyDeleteI think the poem inspires everyone to get out and do something more than what your used to. You won't know if something is "worthy",if you haven't even tried it. I see this poem as guide lines in what I need to accomplish in day's agenda.
ReplyDeleteToday: We did not have class because of the final essay. It was a day to work at where you feel most comfortable and I worked at home polishing up my work with some peer reviewers.
I really like the poem. It tells me that while doing something, do it to the best you possibly can. Today I was able to stay home relax and do my essays. I had all day just to concentrate on my writing so I took time to gather my thoughts and put it all together.
ReplyDeleteI love poems because there are so many ways a person can view it. They all hold so many meanings like the one given above. In my perspective, I believe that this poem is meant to give a message that we should live life to its fullest potential. I noticed the repetition of the word "worth" is used in the poem so that we understand how strong the author is trying to make his/her point. Whatever we do in life, it must be worth the trouble we put ourselves in.
ReplyDeleteThis poem in my opinion, tells of how short life is and how we should make every moment worth it. The author is trying to motivate us and to open our eyes to stop wasting time messing around and get serious.
