The quote above is essentially reading plus writing equals thinking. What I think it's saying is that the more you read and write the more and better you think. When you read, you intake a lot of information. When you write, you remember what you read and put it down. It's a cycle. Because of these two, you think about what you read and what you write, hence this quote.
ReplyDeleteSo today was fun, like a lot of our other days. We laughed a lot which is always a good thing. And I just found out Abby is hungry, but isnt she always? Just kidding Abby.....or not. Anyways, I remember when I did this last year. We got into a debate. Tips versus no tips.
Yes, reading can store a lot of information in your head additionally giving you many ideas.
DeleteIts true that what you write, you read.
DeleteThe tip interest issue seems necessary for every restaurant except fast food.
DeleteSine we were little, we were read to. As we hear more words consistently, we pick up vocabularies. We then practice to write and feel comfortable using variety of terms. As we adapt to more advanced writing, we also improve our reading skills.

DeleteThe quote is very true to me. The more you read the better you write. Vice versa for the more you write. Doing both activities does help with your thinking, especially when thinking critically.
ReplyDeleteToday's activity was great as well. We got to learn more about how to cite references, especially with multiple authors.
Citation is very important. Todays class helped me learn more about citation.
DeleteI need help citing as well. Despite efforts explaining the proper ways to cite, I probably would learn with more practice...I'm a hands on learner.
DeleteI connect to this quote as well. As I read novels, I began to improve my critical thinking. As well as writing in my journal helped improved my writing skills.
DeleteI find the quote above to be true. The more we read something, the more we can expand our vocabulary which will help us improve our writing ability. Same thing goes with learning how to read by writing. Without doing any of the two stated in the quote, people will have trouble to think about what they are writing.
ReplyDeleteToday was interesting, because we had the chance to learn more about citing references. The waiter essay was interesting too.
The waiter essay was very interesting. I think I might tip all the time.
DeleteDefinitely something to consider the next time we eat out.
DeleteThe tip issue was a debate. Customers that do not look forward to tip may reevaluate their options about eating.
DeleteAs babies we learn how to speak because we are spoken to. We learn to read because we are taught how to read. And we write because it helps us in our reading also. Without doing both constantly you might lose what you know. Today in class we went over the proper way to work cite and I so glad we did because it is a refresher for me. I am very sad that our class time is coming to an end.
